Jasmine Braxton
i only remember the things
i try most to forget.
true or false
they hang on my conscience like the
linen i wear.
i dare not to air my
dirty laundry.
i do not remember innocence
as much as
i remember it being taken
away.
so i will hang on my conscience
and feel my soles drag me closer
to the dirt and
maybe the day will come
when i wear too thin.
and someone will hang me
out to dry, and my sheets will air.
and maybe then,
I will be free.
